Flavour

From Rock Hard Lump to Flavourless Wad, does Dubble Bubble provide a long and satisfying chew or a disappointingly short stint of rubbery mastication?

Apparatus

  • 1 - stop watch

  • 3 - pieces of Dubble Bubble Original Flavour Bubble Gum (5.6g each)

Results

Trial #Elapsed Time*
18'53"
210'31"
310'13"
* Chewed until no detectable flavour remained.

Observations
  • Initial flavour is intense and sweet

  • Flavour intensity is quickly reduced

  • After approximately 3'30", flavour intensity drops very dramatically (similar, in intensity, to the remembering a cream soda you drank last week).

  • One soon tires of chewing piece after piece of Dubble Bubble.

  • Despite the previous Observation, one finds it difficult to stop chewing piece after piece of Dubble Bubble.

Conclusions
What do you expect from a piece of bubble gum? Half and hour of slow, squishy bliss or a three-and-a-half minute, sugar-rush burst?

I've done the research, you draw the conclusions.

In case you think me too cowardly to draw any of my own conclusions, allow be to say, Dubble Dubble may be the weight loss secret many people have been searching for. It's only 20 calories a piece, and after chewing several of them your jaw will be so sore you will be unable to eat regular food! Meanwhile, it's 89.3% sugar content will keep you blood sugar high, and keep You happily buzzing along, while starving yourself into a beautiful, new body!
